January Special In-Person Field Trip: Columbus Area

Guided Tour of the Maurice Sendak Exhibit at the Columbus Museum of Art

We are extremely excited that a special exhibition of Maurice Sendak’s work is currently at the Columbus Museum of Art and thought it was only fitting that we organize a tour for our chapter!

Meeting Details:

  • – We will be meeting at the Columbus Museum of Art on Sunday, January 15 for a 3:00 pm guided tour of the exhibit. (Address: 480 East Broad Street, Columbus OH,43215)

  • – Reservations ARE required. The RSVP deadline is December 28 at midnight so we can give the museum our group count and they can schedule their tour guides accordingly. After Dec 28th, we will start a waiting list for any registration cancellations.

  • – General admission to the Columbus Museum of Art is free on Sunday. However, you will need to pay $10 when you arrive at the museum for the special exhibit admission.

  • – Please plan to arrive by AT LEAST 2:30pm so you can purchase your exhibit admission/ticket before our tour begins.

  • – For more information about the exhibit, click HERE

  • – By happy coincidence, the director of the Sendak Foundation–Jonathan Weinberg–will be giving a FREE lecture at 2:00 pm on January 15 at the museum, right before our tour! It is totally optional, but if you would like to attend that lecture, you will need to register with the museum using this link: Click HERE

Additional Info for Non-Columbus Members:

  • – We understand that having an in-person field trip to the Columbus Museum of Art means that some members from other parts of the state will not be able to attend. But hopefully our afternoon tour start time will give anyone who wants to travel to Columbus plenty of time to do so. (Carpooling is also a great idea!)

  • -Additionally, both Cincinnati and Dayton will each have an in-person critique meeting in January. (Yay!) We’ll post that information and send an email blast announcement as soon as those details are finalized.

  • -For our long-term 2023 plan: both Cincinnati AND Dayton will also each have an in-person special activity or speaker planned for their city later in the new year. We hope this will give as many members as possible something extra-exciting to look forward to in their neck of the woods. (Have an idea? We’d love to hear it! Email us at:
